The Julian takes the traditional circular chandelier and reduces it to its essential architectural elements: proportion, iron, light, and space. Two open tiers establish a substantial silhouette while maintaining enough visual transparency for the fixture to coexist comfortably with the architecture around it.

Its lower and upper circular frames distribute candle-style lights around the perimeter, creating an even rhythm from virtually every viewing angle. The tiered construction adds vertical dimension without the density of a heavily ornamented chandelier, making the Julian particularly effective in grand dining rooms, vaulted great rooms, substantial entries, and interiors where both ceiling height and room width must be addressed.

With standard sizes ranging from 36 to 72 inches in diameter, the Julian can be specified for a wide range of architectural proportions. Each fixture is made to order in the USA by Ashore Lighting and offered in 10 hand-applied signature finishes.

Standard covers are included. Optional wax covers introduce a warmer, traditional candle-like character, while natural alabaster shades provide an entirely different material expression through their individual color, veining, pattern, and translucency.

Because we manufacture our own lighting, custom sizing and selected modifications may also be considered when standard dimensions do not properly suit the project.

For interiors requiring still greater height and illumination, the Julian design is also available as our Julian Grand Three-Tier Wrought Iron Chandelier.

Two Tiers of Architectural Scale Without Visual Heaviness

Large circular chandeliers can dominate a room if proportion and open space are not carefully controlled. The Julian approaches scale differently. Its two-tier structure establishes significant width and height while leaving the center of the composition visually open, allowing surrounding architecture, millwork, stone, and furnishings to remain part of the room. Offered from 36 to 72 inches in diameter, it can move from a substantial dining chandelier to a large-scale statement fixture for vaulted interiors. For projects requiring additional vertical presence, the coordinating three-tier Julian extends the same design language into an even more commanding configuration.

The Julian Architectural is a two-tier wrought iron chandelier manufactured by Ashore Lighting in the USA. It features two circular iron tiers, sizes ranging from 36 to 72 inches in diameter, 10 hand-applied finishes, standard covers, and optional wax covers or natural alabaster shades. Custom sizing may also be available for project-specific requirements.

Ashore Lighting manufactures the Julian Architectural in the USA using its own in-house design and production capabilities. As a third-generation lighting manufacturer, we maintain direct control over the fixture’s proportions, ironwork, finish, and selected customization rather than sourcing a finished imported chandelier.

Need Greater Vertical Presence?

For taller rooms and more expansive architectural spaces, explore the Julian Grand Three-Tier Wrought Iron Chandelier, which extends the Julian’s circular design into three ascending tiers with 50–60 lights.

FAQ

The two-tier Julian has a lower overall profile and uses two circular lighting levels, making it appropriate for substantial rooms that do not require the additional height and illumination of the three-tier version. The Julian Grand Three-Tier is intended for taller, more expansive architectural spaces.

Its broad circular proportions make it particularly effective in large dining rooms, great rooms, entries, lodge interiors, and other spaces where a single-tier chandelier may appear underscaled but a three-tier fixture would be unnecessarily tall.

Yes. Because we manufacture our own lighting, custom sizing and certain project-specific modifications may be available. Contact Ashore Lighting before ordering so the dimensions and architectural requirements can be reviewed.

The Julian may be specified with standard covers, optional wax covers, or natural alabaster shades where offered. Natural alabaster varies in color, veining, pattern, and translucency, giving every fixture an individual material character.

Consider the room width, ceiling height, table or furniture dimensions, viewing distance, and surrounding architecture rather than selecting by diameter alone. Our team can help evaluate scale when project dimensions, plans, or elevations are available.

Artisan grinding and refining a circular iron lighting frame by hand before the fixture receives its selected decorative finish.

Circular Ironwork Built One Frame at a Time

The Julian begins as separate iron components rather than a finished decorative shell. Its circular frames must be formed, joined, refined, and aligned before the fixture can take on its final two-tier geometry. Working these elements in-house gives Ashore Lighting direct control over proportion and construction—and makes custom dimensions possible when a room requires something outside the standard range.
