Handcrafted Designer Lighting for Refined Interiors
Designer lighting should do more than illuminate a room—it should help define it. Ashore Lighting designs and manufactures handcrafted lighting for refined residences, mountain retreats, estates, lodges, hospitality interiors, and architecturally significant spaces across the country.
Our collections bring together enduring proportions, substantial materials, and artisan workmanship to create lighting with a distinct architectural presence. From wrought iron chandeliers and sculptural wall sconces to natural alabaster lighting, pendants, lanterns, and grand-scale statement fixtures, each design is created to become part of the interior rather than simply occupy it.
Craftsmanship Over Mass Production
For three generations, our work has been rooted in the tradition of the iron workshop. Rather than sourcing finished fixtures from overseas factories or relying on standardized mass-production methods, we manufacture our own lighting and maintain direct control over the design, fabrication, finishing, and customization process.
Wrought iron components are shaped, joined, refined, and finished by skilled craftspeople. Hand-applied finishes introduce depth and character to the iron rather than attempting to make every surface appear mechanically identical. Natural materials—including alabaster—are selected for the variation that makes each finished fixture distinctive.
This approach produces lighting with substance. Small variations in texture, finish, stone pattern, and artisan workmanship are not imperfections to be concealed; they are part of the character of a handcrafted fixture.
Wrought Iron, Alabaster & Natural Materials
Material selection plays a central role in our designer lighting collections.
Wrought iron provides strength, visual weight, and extraordinary versatility. It can form the disciplined geometry of a modern ring chandelier, the sweeping arms of a traditional chandelier, the restrained framework of an architectural wall sconce, or the expressive branches of a sculptural fixture.
Natural alabaster introduces an entirely different quality. Its translucency softens illumination while natural variations in color and veining make every shade or stone element unique. Depending on the fixture, customers may select among our alabaster color options to create a warmer, quieter, or more expressive lighting composition.
Across the broader collection, iron may also be paired with crystal, quartz, wood, leather, antler, and other natural or architectural materials. These combinations allow individual fixtures to move comfortably between traditional, Mediterranean, Spanish Colonial, rustic, transitional, and contemporary interiors without losing their identity.
The objective is not novelty. It is material authenticity, proportion, and permanence.
Made to Order for Architectural Scale
Exceptional interiors do not always conform to standard retail dimensions, and their lighting should not be expected to either.
Vaulted ceilings, expansive dining rooms, large entry halls, great rooms, staircases, wine rooms, hospitality environments, and open architectural spaces frequently require fixtures with greater scale or different proportions than conventional production lighting can provide.
Many Ashore Lighting fixtures are made to order, with multiple standard sizes available and additional customization possible depending on the design. Diameter, height, configuration, number of tiers, finish, suspension requirements, and other details may be adapted when a project requires a more specific solution.
Because we manufacture our own lighting, our team can discuss these requirements directly with homeowners, interior designers, architects, and builders rather than simply referring to a distributor's catalog.
The result is lighting that can be considered as part of the architecture itself.
Designed and Manufactured In-House
Ashore Lighting is a third-generation lighting manufacturer, not simply a retailer of designer fixtures.
Our in-house design and manufacturing capabilities allow us to remain involved from the initial design through fabrication and final finishing. This provides greater control over proportion, material selection, construction, customization, and the details that ultimately determine how a fixture presents itself within an interior.
Customers may choose from 10 signature hand-applied finishes, and many fixtures can also be specified with different candle cover or natural alabaster options. For projects requiring something beyond the standard configuration, our team can discuss custom sizing and design modifications directly.
This manufacturer-to-client relationship is particularly valuable on substantial residential and design projects where scale, finish, material, and architectural compatibility matter as much as the fixture's appearance in a photograph.
We believe enduring designer lighting should feel considered rather than trend-driven. The strongest fixtures become increasingly connected to the rooms they inhabit, developing the visual permanence associated with well-made architecture, furniture, and decorative arts.

Frequently Asked Questions About Designer Lighting
Designer lighting is lighting created with greater attention to proportion, materials, construction, visual character, and architectural context than ordinary commodity fixtures. At Ashore Lighting, designer lighting includes handcrafted chandeliers, sconces, pendants, lanterns, alabaster fixtures, and statement pieces designed and manufactured for refined interiors.
Yes. Ashore Lighting manufactures its own lighting in the USA. Our fixtures are designed and produced in-house, allowing us to maintain control over construction, materials, finishes, scale, and many customization requirements.
Handcrafted lighting retains evidence of the processes and materials used to create it. Forged and formed iron, hand-applied finishes, natural stone variation, individual assembly, and artisan workmanship give a fixture depth and character that standardized mass-produced lighting often cannot reproduce.
Many fixtures can be customized because we manufacture our own lighting. Depending on the design, modifications may include size, scale, configuration, finish, suspension, and other project-specific details. Contact our team before ordering to discuss custom requirements.
Our collections prominently feature wrought iron and natural alabaster, along with selected designs incorporating crystal, quartz, wood, leather, antler, and other natural or architectural materials. Materials vary by fixture.
Chandelier sizing depends on the room dimensions, ceiling height, furniture placement, architectural scale, and the visual presence desired. Dining tables, large foyers, vaulted great rooms, stairwells, and open spaces each require different considerations. Our team can assist with fixture sizing and custom scale when necessary.
Our collections range from architectural and transitional designs to traditional, Mediterranean, Spanish Colonial, rustic, organic, and sculptural lighting. Rather than following one decorative style exclusively, the collections are unified by material integrity, craftsmanship, and proportion.
