The Mission Architectural One-Light Wrought Iron Wall Sconce reduces the fixture to its most essential elements: a substantial circular backplate, disciplined iron geometry, and a single elevated candle-style light. Made to order in the USA, it is available in ten signature finishes with standard covers included and optional wax or natural alabaster upgrades.

Prefer a Broader Two-Light Composition? The Mission Architectural Two-Light Wrought Iron Wall Sconce expands the same disciplined geometry into a balanced 12-inch-wide configuration with twin candle-style lights and a central circular backplate. Explore the Two-Light Mission Sconce

Key Features:

  • Restrained single-light geometry: One elevated light and a disciplined iron framework create a strong architectural silhouette without unnecessary ornament.
  • Substantial circular backplate: The broad rounded plate provides visual weight and contrast against the fixture's straight iron members.
  • Compact architectural proportions: At 6.5 inches wide and 10 inches high, the sconce works particularly well where wall space is limited.
  • Three cover selections: Standard covers are included, with upgrades available in warm wax or natural alabaster in four distinctive colors.
  • Made-to-order craftsmanship: Ten signature finishes and available customization support residential and hospitality projects requiring a more considered wall fixture.

The Mission Architectural One-Light Wrought Iron Wall Sconce is an exercise in restraint. A single upright light rises from a strong rectilinear iron framework, while a broad circular backplate anchors the composition to the wall.

There is little ornament because none is required.

Straight iron members establish the fixture's geometry, a pointed lower terminal gives the vertical standard a decisive finish, and the subtly dimensional backplate introduces enough curvature to balance the otherwise disciplined form. The result is a wall sconce that feels architectural rather than decorative.

Measuring 10 inches high by 6.5 inches wide with a 7-inch projection, the Mission is compact enough for narrower architectural spaces while retaining the visual substance of hand-worked iron. It can be installed singly, used as a symmetrical pair, or repeated along hallways, stair passages, libraries, dining rooms, and other interiors where lighting should reinforce the architecture rather than compete with it.

The fixture comes with standard covers, with optional upgrades to wax covers or natural alabaster shades. Wax introduces a softer, candle-inspired quality, while alabaster adds natural veining, tonal movement, and gently diffused illumination.

Alabaster is available in four distinctive colors:

• Amber
• White
• Amber with Red Veining
• White with Amber Veining

Choose from ten hand-applied signature finishes to coordinate the ironwork with surrounding architecture, hardware, furnishings, and materials.

Designed by our in-house team and made to order in the USA, the Mission reflects Ashore Lighting's third-generation manufacturing experience. Because we manufacture our own lighting, project-specific modifications may also be considered.

Architectural Restraint Reduced to a Single Point of Light

The one-light Mission is the most restrained expression of the design.

A single vertical standard rises against a substantial circular backplate, joined to the wall through a short horizontal iron member. The geometry is direct and deliberate, giving the fixture presence without relying on decorative flourish.

Its relatively narrow width makes the Mission particularly useful in locations where architectural spacing matters: between windows, beside mirrors, flanking artwork, along corridors, or in repeated installations where a larger wall fixture would become excessive.

Cover material can subtly change the character of the sconce. Standard covers preserve its direct architectural presentation. Wax introduces a warmer candlelight quality, while natural alabaster creates a compelling contrast between disciplined iron and organically varied stone.

For installations requiring greater width or a symmetrical two-light composition, the Mission Architectural Two-Light Wrought Iron Wall Sconce carries the same design language into a broader format.

Each Mission fixture is made to order by Ashore Lighting and offered in ten hand-applied signature finishes. Custom dimensions, projection, finish coordination, and other reviewed modifications may also be considered before production.

The Mission is a made-to-order one-light wrought iron wall sconce manufactured in the USA by Ashore Lighting with disciplined architectural geometry and standard, wax, or alabaster cover options.

Ashore Lighting manufactures the Mission Architectural One-Light Wall Sconce using artisan-finished wrought iron and an original geometric design developed by its in-house lighting team.

FAQ

Its narrow proportions make it well suited beside mirrors, artwork, doorways, windows, cabinetry, and other areas where wall space is limited. It can also be repeated along corridors or stair passages.

Standard covers preserve the fixture's direct architectural character. Wax adds a warmer candle-inspired effect, while natural alabaster creates stronger material contrast through visible stone variation and softly diffused illumination.

Yes. The symmetry and restrained geometry make the one-light Mission particularly effective in paired installations beside mirrors, fireplaces, artwork, architectural openings, or other focal points.
