The Gothica Architectural Square Wrought Iron Alabaster Chandelier suspends a luminous field of natural stone within an elaborate framework of iron. Available from 42 to 60 inches square with 20–28 lights, its geometric proportions are softened by scrolling suspension details and individually illuminated alabaster shades. Made to order in the USA in ten hand-applied finishes, with four alabaster selections and customization available.

Key Features:

  • Architectural square composition: A broad square perimeter and radiating iron framework create a distinctive alternative to conventional round chandeliers.
  • 20–28 light configurations: Three sizes preserve the fixture’s visual density while scaling from 42 to an imposing 60 inches square.
  • Natural alabaster illumination: Individual stone shades introduce organic veining, tonal movement, and softly diffused light against the strength of the ironwork.
  • Adjustable architectural height: Minimum 36-inch fixture height with extended hanging configurations reaching 60 or 80 inches depending on size.
  • Made-to-order construction: Choose from ten hand-applied signature finishes and four alabaster colors, with custom dimensions and project-specific modifications available for review.

Small (20 lights): 42" x 42" x 36" Min. H (Adj. H to 60")

The Gothica Architectural Square Wrought Iron Alabaster Chandelier approaches large-scale lighting as suspended architecture. A broad square perimeter establishes the fixture’s geometry while a dense framework of slender iron members rises toward a smaller upper frame, creating a composition that feels structural, intricate, and remarkably open despite its substantial scale.

Natural alabaster surrounds each light, introducing a softer counterpoint to the ironwork. When illuminated, the stone reveals individual variations in veining, translucency, color, and tonal movement. Because alabaster is a natural material, no two shades will appear precisely alike—an inherent characteristic that gives every Gothica chandelier its own visual identity.

Three made-to-order configurations accommodate increasingly substantial rooms. The Small measures 42" x 42" with 20 lights and a minimum height of 36", adjustable to 60". The Medium measures 48" x 48" with 24 lights and the same 36" minimum height, adjustable to 60". The Large expands to 60" x 60" with 28 lights and a 36" minimum height, adjustable to 80".

Its square footprint makes the Gothica particularly compelling above square dining tables, centered within substantial foyers, beneath vaulted ceilings, or in great rooms where a conventional circular chandelier would not establish the same architectural relationship with the room.

Choose from ten hand-applied signature finishes and four natural alabaster selections: Amber, White, Amber with Red Veining, and White with Amber Veining.

Designed by our in-house team and made to order in the USA, the Gothica can also be reviewed for custom dimensions, suspension requirements, finish coordination, and other project-specific modifications. Because we manufacture our own lighting, our team can work directly with homeowners, interior designers, architects, and builders when standard proportions do not fully answer the architecture.

A Square Chandelier Designed as Suspended Architecture

The Gothica gains much of its character from the tension between geometry and ornament. A disciplined square perimeter gives the chandelier its architectural order, while radiating iron members, scrollwork, exposed suspension details, and natural alabaster prevent the composition from becoming severe.

The result is substantial without becoming visually closed—a fixture capable of holding its own within vaulted rooms, grand dining spaces, and interiors where the ceiling plane deserves deliberate consideration.

Explore the Gothica in Other Architectural Forms

The Gothica family carries its wrought iron and natural alabaster language across several distinct geometries. For a composition better suited to long dining tables or kitchen islands, explore the Gothica Rectangular Wrought Iron Alabaster Chandelier.

For a softer circular footprint with the same historic material character, consider the Gothica Heritage Wrought Iron Ring Chandelier. View the complete Gothica Lighting Collection to compare the full family of chandeliers and coordinating wall lighting.

FAQ

Its square footprint works particularly well above square dining tables, within substantial foyers, beneath vaulted ceilings, and in large rooms where the architecture benefits from a fixture with clearly defined geometry. The three available sizes also allow its proportions to be matched more closely to the room.

Natural alabaster softens the substantial iron framework with translucent stone and individually varied veining. Each shade differs naturally in pattern, tone, and translucency, so an installed chandelier develops a layered character that cannot be reproduced with uniform manufactured glass.

The Square Gothica establishes a balanced architectural footprint suited to square rooms, dining arrangements, foyers, and central ceiling locations. The Rectangular Gothica extends the same family language horizontally, making it particularly appropriate above long dining tables, kitchen islands, and other elongated architectural layouts.

Yes. All three configurations begin at a 36-inch minimum fixture height. The 42- and 48-inch versions may be configured up to approximately 60 inches high, while the 60-inch version can extend to approximately 80 inches. Additional project-specific suspension requirements can also be discussed before production.

Yes. Because we manufacture our own lighting, customization may include dimensions, suspension requirements, finish coordination, and other project-specific modifications when technically appropriate. For vaulted ceilings, unusually large rooms, or complex installations, we recommend contacting our team before ordering.
