The Phoenix Y is an expression of architectural lighting in which iron and natural stone are brought together through an extraordinary study of form.
Its sculptural composition begins with slender wrought iron members that converge through a narrow central passage. Crossing with controlled precision, the ironwork gradually opens outward into an expansive arrangement of 24 illuminated alabaster shades.
The result is a chandelier that appears simultaneously intricate and disciplined—a substantial architectural presence built around the relationship between structure, material, and light.
The Distinction of Natural Alabaster
The Phoenix Y introduces a remarkable contrast between the strength of its ironwork and the luminosity of natural alabaster.
Each cylindrical shade contributes its own tonal character, with variations in veining, translucency, and mineral movement becoming more apparent when illuminated. Warm metallic accents beneath the stone provide additional definition against the dark iron structure.
Rather than concealing the chandelier’s construction, the alabaster completes it.
Viewed from different positions within an interior, the crossing iron members reveal changing relationships between line, depth, and negative space. Above them, the elevated shades establish an expansive composition of softly diffused light.
An Architectural Presence of Considerable Scale
Measuring 48.5 inches in diameter and 42 inches in height, the Phoenix Y is designed for interiors that can accommodate lighting of substantial presence.
Its open structure makes it particularly suited to great rooms, expansive dining areas, dramatic entries, and spaces with generous ceiling heights. Twenty-four illuminated alabaster shades provide a broad lighting arrangement while contributing the warmth and material character that distinguish natural stone from conventional glass.
Made in the USA. A Third-Generation Manufacturing Tradition.
Ashore Lighting manufactures its own lighting in the USA, continuing three generations of architectural ironworking knowledge.
The Phoenix Y reflects the capabilities of our in-house design team and workshop, where the relationships between individual structural elements are considered as part of the finished composition.
Each fixture is made to order and available in 10 signature finishes and four natural alabaster colors. Because alabaster is a natural material, variations in color, veining, and translucency are an inherent part of its character.
As the manufacturer, we can also evaluate requests for custom dimensions, suspension requirements, and select architectural modifications.
The Phoenix Y is defined not by ornament, but by the remarkable presence of ironwork and illuminated stone.
