The Torch Hand-Forged Wrought Iron Candle Wall Sconce reflects a longstanding tradition of iron wall lighting, expressed through an unusually restrained composition. Its design centers on the upright form of a single candle, supported by a shallow iron pan and a tapered forged stem that descends from a circular wall plate.
The arrangement recalls traditional wall-mounted candleholders without relying on elaborate decorative elements. Each component contributes to the fixture's carefully measured proportions, allowing the forged iron itself to establish its character.
At the uppermost point, the candle-style light rises above a gently dished iron pan. The shallow curvature provides a quiet horizontal counterpoint to the fixture's vertical silhouette. Below, the iron stem passes before a circular mounting plate, its squared profile gradually narrowing toward a softly rounded terminal. A small iron collar introduces another deliberate detail, reinforcing the relationship between the mounting structure and the forged shaft.
The resulting design has an understated architectural presence. Measuring 16 inches high, 5½ inches wide, and 5½ inches in projection, the Torch is particularly appropriate for traditional hallways, intimate sitting rooms, libraries, and carefully composed wall arrangements. Installed individually, it offers a distinct vertical accent. Arranged in pairs, its proportions establish rhythm and visual continuity without overwhelming the surrounding architecture.
The fixture includes a standard candle cover. Optional wax covers offer an alternative candle treatment, while natural alabaster shades introduce the character of illuminated stone. The alabaster upgrade is available in four distinctive color selections: Amber, White, Amber with Red Veining, and White with Amber Veining. Natural differences in veining, color, and translucency are inherent to each stone shade.
Ten hand-applied signature finishes further determine the character of the finished fixture, allowing the ironwork to complement both historic and contemporary interiors.
Manufactured to order in the USA by Ashore Lighting, a third-generation wrought iron lighting manufacturer, the Torch reflects the enduring appeal of uncomplicated craftsmanship. Because we manufacture our own lighting, project-specific modifications may also be evaluated to accommodate individual architectural requirements.
