The Gilded Crown is a twelve-light wrought iron chandelier defined by its crown-shaped framework, seeded-glass cylinder shades, and suspended rock-crystal drops. At 36 inches in diameter, its open construction balances substantial ironwork with the delicacy of crystal. Made to order in the USA by Ashore Lighting, the fixture is available in ten hand-applied signature finishes.

Key Features:

  • Crown-inspired wrought iron architecture: Sweeping iron arches rise from a broad circular band, creating an open, structured silhouette with substantial visual presence.
  • Twelve seeded-glass cylinder shades: Individually positioned around the circular frame, the textured glass introduces a secondary material character to the chandelier's illumination.
  • Suspended rock-crystal ornamentation: Clear, teardrop-shaped rock-crystal accents hang beneath the iron band, providing reflection, movement, and contrast.
  • Architectural iron detailing: Diamond-shaped plates, raised studs, and forged iron construction establish a distinctive character beyond conventional circular chandeliers.
  • Manufacturer-direct customization: Made to order in the USA with ten signature hand-applied finishes and the opportunity to review custom proportions, suspension, and project-specific requirements.

The Gilded Crown chandelier is an exercise in architectural contrast. A broad circular band anchors the design, while rising iron arches form an open crown above its twelve illuminated seeded-glass cylinders. Beneath the ring, a succession of suspended rock-crystal drops introduces a second, lighter rhythm. The result is a chandelier with substantial presence and an unusually clear separation between structure, illumination, and ornament.

Its defining detail is the ironwork. The ring is articulated with diamond-shaped plates and raised studs, while curved supports draw the eye upward toward the chain. These details give the fixture a sense of crafted construction without obscuring its circular geometry. The open framework allows views through the chandelier, an advantage where the fixture occupies the center of a room rather than resting against a wall.

Each of the twelve candelabra-base lights is enclosed by a seeded-glass cylinder. Their subtly textured surfaces bring another material character to the design, distinct from the suspended rock crystal below. The drops catch and redirect light around the circumference; their individual shapes and reflective qualities provide a counterpoint to the dark weight of the iron.

At 36 inches in diameter and 32 inches in fixture height, Gilded Crown can establish a measured focal point over a dining table or within a foyer, stair hall, or great room when the surrounding dimensions and suspension are appropriate. Its circular composition is particularly effective where it can be viewed from more than one direction.

Ashore Lighting designs and manufactures Gilded Crown to order in the USA. The ironwork may be specified in any of ten signature hand-applied finishes; the Bronze finish shown illustrates how a darker treatment gives definition to the architectural band and stone pendants. Because we manufacture our own lighting, our team can also review requests concerning overall scale, suspension, and project-specific adjustments before production.

In this fixture, the permanence of iron and the relative delicacy of crystal are not competing treatments. Each gives the other its character.

A Crown of Iron. A Study in Crystal.

Gilded Crown draws its character from the relationship between weight and suspension. A continuous forged iron band establishes the chandelier's perimeter, while ascending arches give the composition height and structural definition.

Beneath the ironwork, suspended rock-crystal drops form an ornamental border that catches light independently of the twelve seeded-glass cylinders above. The contrast is deliberate: iron provides permanence, glass softens the illuminated elements, and crystal introduces movement.

The result is a chandelier suited to interiors where lighting must contribute to the architecture as decisively as the furnishings themselves.

FAQ

Gilded Crown combines a substantial circular iron band with an open crown-shaped upper framework. Twelve seeded-glass cylinder shades establish the illuminated composition, while suspended rock-crystal drops introduce a separate layer of ornamentation. Its character comes from the relationship between structural ironwork, textured glass, and reflective crystal rather than decorative scrollwork alone.

The chandelier's suspended decorative drops are specified as rock crystal. These elements are distinct from the seeded-glass cylinders surrounding the twelve lights. The glass shades and crystal pendants serve different visual purposes: the cylinders enclose the illuminated elements, while the rock-crystal drops introduce reflection beneath the iron band.

Gilded Crown measures 36 inches in diameter and 32 inches in fixture height, making it a candidate for dining rooms, foyers, stair halls, and great rooms with appropriate proportions. The final installation should account for ceiling height, suspension length, circulation clearance, and surrounding furnishings. Ashore Lighting can assist with reviewing the fixture's scale in relation to a specific space.

Yes. Because we manufacture our own lighting, our team can review suspension requirements and project-specific modifications for vaulted ceilings and other architectural conditions. Options may include adjusted suspension length, alternative proportions, or installation-related changes where technically feasible. Contact Ashore Lighting before ordering so the ceiling conditions and intended mounting arrangement can be evaluated.

Gilded Crown features twelve candelabra-base lights with a maximum rating of 100 watts per bulb. The fixture weighs 75 pounds and requires assembly. Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician using an appropriately rated support and mounting arrangement. Confirm the final suspension configuration and applicable electrical requirements before installation.
